Ingredients

  • Psilocybin is a psychedelic compound from the tryptamine grouping, found in at least 100 different types of mushrooms. TruBlu Micromycos Formulas incorporate the mushroom Cubensis psilocybe, the most common source of psilocybin.

Psilocybin mushrooms have been used for literally tens of thousands of years for their healing properties, traditionally taken in large doses for their psychedelic effects and facilitation of spiritual healing and growth.

The idea and practice of microdosing psilocybin is a very recent phenomenon, based on scientific research conducted over the past several decades and on social studies compiled much more recently. The subsequent data shows that microdosing psilocybin can support people with depression, anxiety, mental or cognitive issues, and clearing addiction, and quite possibly helps with neuro-plasticity, and neuro-genesis. Microdosing has been widely reported to increase creativity, positivity, motivation, empathy and a sense of spiritual connectivity.

  • Blue Lotus, Nymphaea caerulea, is a type of water lily that is native to Egypt. It grows in wet soil surrounding lakes and rivers and is widespread along the banks of the Nile. The ancient Egyptians considered the Blue Lotus sacred. It was often depicted in architectural design, on papyrus depictions and as a motif in tombs. Assumed to have been regularly consumed by the ancient Egyptians, Blue Lotus is known to be a euphoric plant medicine with a number of healing properties.

While there have not been many studies done into the constituents and properties of Blue Lotus, there is much anecdotal information supporting its use, most often to induce a relaxed and happy state of being. Egyptians were said to have steeped it in wine and drank it for socializing and for ceremonies. Many people report feelings of centeredness, openness, euphoria and a sense of spiritual connectivity from using Blue Lotus.

Other documented properties and uses of Blue Lotus, some of which have been scientifically studied, include aphrodisiac, anti-inflammatory, anti-spasmodic, anti-anxiety, sleep aid, dream enhancement, skin-care, protecting the heart, erectile dysfunction and hormone regulation.

Its two most well-known constituents, apomorphine and nucipherine, have both been scientifically researched. Apomorphine has been used since the late 1800’s to treat depression, insomnia, schizophrenia and erectile dysfunction. More recently it is utilized as a treatment for Parkinson’s disease. Nuciferine also appears to have anti-psychotic effects, and may also benefit conditions such as neuropathic pain, fibromyalgia, and depression.

  • Also called Velvet Bean, Mucuna pruriens is a legume that grows throughout the tropical and subtropical regions, including Africa, Asia, the Caribbean, and the Pacific Islands.

A few of the well-known benefits of Mucuna include its nootropic, anti-depressant and aphrodisiac effects, anti-microbial and antioxidant properties, anti-epileptic action, and its ability to fight diabetes and reduce stress. Mucuna is a treatment for Parkinson’s disease, and it has also been used to support people fighting addiction to narcotics.

But the unique thing about Mucuna is its high levels of levadopa, a precursor the body uses to create dopamine. Mucuna also contains naturally occurring serotonin, epinephrine, norepinephrine, nicotine and trace amounts of the psychoactive compound 5MEODMT. The combination of these chemicals in the body produces energy, focus and a sense of euphoria.

However, there have been some side effects noted with this plant medicine, and it is not recommended to use it long term. When overused, people have reported increased heart rate, headaches, agitation, and confusion.

  • Rhodiola rosea, also known as “golden root,” is an adaptogenic plant medicine with tremendous anti-depressive, energy-enhancing and brain-boosting power.

Rhodiola has been utilized by traditional medicine systems across the world, especially Europe, Asia and Russia, for many centuries. Rhodiola has a long history of use in Chinese medicine. Rhodiola is included in this formula for its incredibly energy-enhancing and uplifting properties.

Rhodiola increases stamina and endurance by boosting merythropoietin, which stimulates red blood cell (RBC) production, which increases your RBC count. RBCs carry oxygen to muscles, and so having a higher count can dramatically increase energy and delay fatigue. Rhodiola has also been found to increase synthesis of ATP, which is essential for cellular energy.

Another essential benefit of Rhodiola is that it helps to increase the sensitivity of neurons to both serotonin and dopamine, neurotransmitters, found naturally in Mucuna, another ingredient in this formula. Both of these “feel-good” neurotransmitters increase sense of pleasure and positive mood.

  • Cordyceps sinensis is another adaptogenic fungi used for centuries in China and Tibet. Although naturally found as a parasitic organism, growing in the bodies of insects, the Cordyceps we use today is cultivated in plant-based mediums.

The Cordyceps mushroom has long been revered for its immune-boosting powers, it’s ability to help control autoimmune disorders, minimize excessive inflammation and prevent tissue damage while speeding up healing time. Studies show it fights cancer, effectively treats inflammatory conditions such as Crohn’s disease, arthritis, leaky gut and asthma, protects the kidneys, heart and liver, regulates blood sugar levels and lowers LDL cholesterol and triglycerides. Studies also show that as a powerful anti-oxidant, Cordyceps can even slow signs of aging and extend longevity.

Cordyceps mushrooms have most recently and predominantly been used to increase energy levels. Several studies suggest that they improve physical abilities, endurance and stamina, including libido and sexual function, partially because they boost the body’s supply of ATP, one of the primary sources of energy during exercise. Cordyceps contain adenosine, a type of nucleic acid that is needed to make ATP, which is required for energy and is depleted in the muscles during physical activity. At the same time, Cordyceps decreases the production of lactic acid and other reactive oxygen species by increasing your natural production of master antioxidants such as superoxide dismutase (SOD) and glutathione.

  • Guarana, also known by its scientific name Paullinia cupana, is native to the Amazon rainforest. Most widely used for its caffeine content, this little bean also offers many healing properties.

Besides caffeine, Guarana also contains theobromine, an antioxidant also found in chocolate, known for its uplifting and mood-enhancing effects. Like caffeine, theobromine offers increased energy. Theobromine increases blood flow and air flow to the lungs. All these actions together point to theobromine’s reputation for acting as an aphrodisiac.

Several studies show that Guarana can have a powerful impact on improving focus and memory, as well as significantly enhance task performance.

High in anti-oxidants, Guarana, can help support heart health. In fact, studies indicate that it helps reduce blood pressure and prevents blood clots to reduce the risk of heart attacks and stroke. Guarana can also decrease the oxidation of LDL cholesterol in the blood, which helps control the buildup of plaque in the arteries to prevent atherosclerosis.

Additional studies show that Guarana fights cancer, kills harmful bacteria, prevent tooth decay, relieves both diarrhea and constipation, protect against eye degeneration, provide pain relief and support weight loss.

  • L-theanine (also called theanine, or sometimes r-glutamylethylamide) is an amino acid extracted from green tea that has been shown to reduce stress and promote relaxation while increasing mental clarity, focus, creativity and retention.

L-Theanine works by increasing alpha brain waves (α-waves), which are associated with creative thinking, calm focus, and mental clarity. Alpha brain waves, for example, are heightened when you meditate or are deeply focused on your work. This amino acid is one of the only nootropic compounds known to have this special ability to modulate your brain waves. The result of these effects is that L-Theanine will make you feel calm yet more alert at the same time, making retaining knowledge and learning new information much easier. Having higher alpha brain waves also promotes feelings of peace and joy.

L-Theanine also supports brain health as it stimulates the release of neurotransmitters, including dopamine, serotonin, and GABA, while increasing the production of Nerve Growth Factor (NGF) and Brain-Derived Neurotrophic Factor (BDNF), both of which stimulate neuro-genesis, the creation of new brain cells. At the same time, it protects the brain from the potentially harmful effects of the excitatory neurotransmitter glutamate, by binding to its receptors, potentially preventing cognitive decline, brain and mental disorders, strokes, and damage that might be caused by a stroke.

  • Ashwagandha, botanically named Withania somnifera, is also known as Indian ginseng, Indian winter cherry. Ashwagandha is a powerful adaptogen originally founded in Ayurvedic medicine and as such it has been used for at least 2,500 years for its thyroid-modulating, neuroprotective, anti-anxiety, antidepressant and anti-inflammatory properties.

Some of the many scientifically proven uses for Ashwagandha include decreasing inflammation and protecting against oxidative damage, fighting cancer, reducing stress and anxiety, improving depression, improving cognitive function, lowering cortisol levels, balancing thyroid hormones, strengthening the immune system, enhancing stamina and physical performance, building muscle strength, treating adrenal fatigue, improving sleep quality, normalizing blood sugar, lowering cholesterol and triglycerides, helping prevent heart disease and stroke, and managing ADHD.

This TruBlu Micromycos Formula uses an Ashwagandha extract called KSM-66, a full-spectrum extract made from carefully selected roots through a traditional Ayurvedic method, purified and clinically-tested. This extract is considered to be uplifting and energizing while still maintaining the calming and healing effects of Ashwagandha.
